Bright pink lights filled the streets of downtown Columbus just one week ago at the 15th Annual Komen Columbus LeVeque Tower Lighting Celebration! The tower lighting has been a tradition for Komen Columbus and helps to spread breast cancer awareness and inform community members about volunteer activities. It also serves as a wonderful reminder that Race Day is just around the corner and to register before it’s too late.
The lighting celebration also serves as a vivid reminder that breast cancer affects us all. Andrea Cambern from WBNS-10TV, Colleen Marshall from WCMH and Amy Lutz from WSYX all shared their experiences with breast cancer. We were honored to have all three women in attendance and value their support and dedication to ending breast cancer forever.
This year’s event went off without a hitch! More than 70 top fundraisers, volunteers and sponsors attended and watched as the Columbus skyline turned pink. We want to thank The LeVeque Tower, Noodles & Company, The Kroger Company, Catering by Scott and Hilliard Floral for sponsoring this year’s event. We truly are so lucky for the generosity shown to us by the community.
Enjoy the bright pink lights downtown for the next few weeks and let it serve as a reminder that breast cancer is everywhere and affects us all.
