Hockey Fights Cancer Night

Participants enjoying the 2009 Hockey Fights Cancer night.

It’s almost Hockey Fights Cancer Night  with the Columbus Blue Jackets! We’re so excited for the second annual Hockey Fights Cancer event on Friday, October 22 at Nationwide Arena. Now you can not only show your Blue Jackets pride as the home team battles the Calgary Flames, but you can do it in pink!

Special tickets are available  for $25 each by order form, with $7 of each ticket benefitting breast cancer education, treatment and screening services through Komen Columbus. We also have limited edition “Hockey Fights Cancer” t-shirts and pink wigs available for $5 each.

While we do want you to sit back, relax and enjoy the game, we also want you to get involved! We need volunteers to help form a human ribbon on the ice during one of the intermissions.

We also need a special group of  volunteers to form the “Tunnel of Pride” and help welcome the players on to the ice before the game. Think you’re up for either one of these challenges? Email and let us know by Wednesday, October 20. If you let us know by Friday, October 15, we’ll enter you in a contest to win a copy of Nancy G. Brinker’s memoir Promise Me.

Members of the human ribbon during last year's game.

Hope to hear from you soon and see you next Friday!
