Recently we welcomed more than 60 representatives from non-profit organizations throughout Central Ohio to our office in Westerville for our annual grant-writing workshop. Attendees learned more about our affiliate and how they could apply for funding to support vital breast health services and programs. Our current community health grantees, listed here, provide services ranging from mammograms to education to patient assistance programs.
Seventy-five percent of the money raised by the Komen Columbus Affiliate stays in Central and Southeastern Ohio to support organizations that offer education, treatment and screening programs to local residents, particularly who are uninsured or medically under-served in the following counties: Athens, Champaign, Clark, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Gallia, Guernsey, Hocking, Jackson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Madison, Marion, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Union, Vinton and Washington.
Megan Savage, our Director of Education and Community Outreach, led the meeting, which included a recap of our 2011 Community profile, which drives what our funding priorities will be for the next two years.
The meeting was held to announce that the 2012-2013 Request for Applications is now available for our Community Health Grants Program.
