Like many, Mike Jones is no stranger to breast cancer and has already seen his sister, aunt, sister-in-law and numerous friends face a breast cancer diagnosis. He knows all too well the importance of fundraising and awareness-building to find a cure for this disease. Since opening an Orange Leaf self-serve frozen yogurt shop along with Maureen, Brandon and Roger Ross, Mike has decided to support Komen Columbus every Sunday in October by giving 20% of proceeds from each Sunday’s sales to Komen Columbus.
“How many places can people go, have fun and a treat, and in turn promote a worthwhile cause? We want to donate thousands of dollars,” Mike said.
Help Mike make this promotion a success by visiting his Orange Leaf location at 750 North State Street, Westerville, OH, every Sunday in October, (October 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30) from 11 am to 10:30 pm for some delicious frozen yogurt.
“Without question, certain causes require not only volunteer help, but it also takes funding to find cures,” Mike said. “My wife Sue Jones along with her brother Stan Mansfield have been very active in the organization. Further, I thought it would be neat to see how much money we could try and raise.”
Mike loves being part of a small business that is growing (they started with four employees and are now up to 10) and enjoys seeing people come in with a smile and leave with a smile.
We appreciate the generosity of Mike and the Ross family and plan on getting our fro-yo fix during October – hope to see you one Sunday at Orange Leaf!
