It may be a neighbor or a co-worker, a friend or even a family member, but many times volunteers and advocates of Komen Columbus are involved because of a personal connection to breast cancer. Too often that connection is for someone who lost his or her battle to breast cancer.
When the entire Komen Affiliate network comes together every year, that is, representatives from the 125 Komen affiliates across the country and much of the staff at headquarters in Dallas, Texas, we pause to remember the men and women who have been lost in our respective communities to breast cancer. We share their stories and often marvel at the strength and determination they displayed while fighting.
Will you help us share their stories?
Please submit a photo, name, brief description and 5-10 adjectives that describe someone in Central or Southeastern Ohio who has lost their battle with breast cancer during 2011. A number of the photos will be displayed at the conference for all to see. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your submission or any questions.
