When Stacy Botkin heard the news that she had breast cancer in November 2007, she took a deep breath, looked her doctor in the eye and decided right then and there to face this disease head on.
Stacy is now celebrating 5 years of being cancer free, but she continues to the fight in a different way- she raises money for Komen Columbus to help find a cure and increase awareness.
Stacy is not one to stand on the sidelines. Even when she was undergoing treatment and recovering from her surgeries, she was active and maintained a positive attitude and was determined to live and enjoy life.
“After I started my chemo, my hair was beginning to fall out, so I had a Mexican and Margarita party with friends and we shaved my head,” said Botkin
It’s this same whimsical spirit that has fueled her latest fundraising efforts- a Pig Roast with a live band, dunk tank and even Betty White (well kind of).
Come cheer on Stacy and her softball team, “4 get about it” to victory and stay for a night of food and fun all for a good cause. Game times are 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The festivities will kick off during the second game.
