As the best time of year for basketball fans approaches—“Beware, the Madness of March,” Shakespeare once sort of wrote—there are likely several bracket challenges currently vying for your attention. We’d like to encourage you all to join one hosted by the Komen Young Professionals committee on ESPN.com.
The grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a round-trip ticket on American Airlines!
But there is also a greater benefit: support of the Race for the Cure. To participate in the bracket challenge there is a suggested $5 donation, to be paid on our web site by attributing the donation as being “In honor of: KYP Bracket Challenge.”
If you’re interested, you have until this Thursday at 11:59 AM to do the following:
(1) Go to this group page for the Tournament Challenge—“KYP Columbus”—and either log in to your ESPN.com account, or create one. Doing the latter is free, and takes approximately 45 seconds.
(2) Click the “Join this Group” button and, when prompted, enter the password: May18.
(3) Create your bracket. Make your picks.
(4) Make your donation here. We suggest $5, but more is of course welcome. On the donation page, click the box next to “Yes, this donation is in honor of…” New text will appear underneath that box. Beside “Honor Gift Type” select “In honor of”. Beside “Honoree Name/Occasion” type: “KYP Bracket Challenge.” Fill out the rest of the information as directed on the site.
The top 3 finishers in the competition for the mens and womens tournament, both of which will be hosted on ESPN’s web site, will receive two prizes: one from Komen and a donation made to Komen in the winner’s name. Don’t forget – the grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a round-trip ticket on American Airlines!
Like “Komen Columbus Young Professionals” on Facebook and check out all the great events our young professionals have planned!
Thanks for playing, and good luck!
Special thanks to Michael Corey, a KYP Volunteer, for setting up the challenge!
