While you may not always associate condos with the fight against breast cancer, for the past five years Epcon Communities has been doing exactly that. Each year the company has generously donated $1,000 to Komen Columbus for every condo that goes into contract at one of its Central Ohio Communities during the month of October. Last year the donation was an incredible $10,000!

To kick off such a fun month of giving, Epcon is once again hosting a free “Girls’ Night Out” Open House on Thursday, September 26 from 4-7 pm. The open house will be held at the beautiful model home at the Courtyards at Pinnacle Club, located at 1400 Pinnacle Club Drive in Grove City. Angela An from WBNS-10TV will serve as the night’s emcee as guests enjoy browsing vendors from CAbi Clothing, Mukha Custom Cosmetics, Over my Head Wig and Hat Boutique, Stella & Dot, Studio 52 and Thirty-One Gifts while indulging in complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks.
Many of the vendors have been involved with this fun event from the beginning and look forward to the Open House every year.

Bethany Golden, owner of Over My Head Wig and Hat Boutique, is especially excited for this year’s event, given the close connection she has to breast cancer.
“I love this event because it is such a great gathering of people and businesses who are all focused on the same goal – ending breast cancer! Having lost my mom and grandma to the disease, it is especially personal,” said Bethany.
Meg Morosco will be on hand representing Stella & Dot for the fifth year and says she comes back every year because she loves interacting with the attendees in such a fun and intimate atmosphere.
“There is so much to learn about where we are [in the fight against breast cancer], the direction we’re headed, and how we can achieve a cure-and I think Komen Columbus does that best! The setting and the people are what makes Condos for the Cure exceptional!” Meg said.

Jenny McPherson from Thirty-One Gifts is looking forward to attending the Open House for her third year and to chatting with all the attendees.
“My favorite part of the event is getting to meet all of the wonderful people that stop by during the evening. I love to hear their stories, and I love knowing that I am a part of an event that allows light to shine on how we all can come together as women and make a difference,” Jenny said.
All the vendors are generously donating a portion of their proceeds from the evening back to Komen Columbus, and attendees will also be eligible to win great raffle prizes donated by the vendors.
“Thirty-One just released their new catalog at the beginning of this month and there are many new patterns, totes and purses to choose from. The special this month is fantastic….for every $35 spent, the customer may purchase any Organizing Utility Tote or Super Organizing Tote for half price,” Jenny said.
Meg will be showcasing the Fall and Holiday Collection from Stella & Dot, and she is also planning on donating $100 from every Trunk Show booked at the event toward Condos for the Cure.
“If guests aren’t able to attend or want to start browsing in advance, they can start looking online,” Meg said. “My goal is to make 2013 my largest donation yet! And 2012 was a BIG year!”
We hope you’ll plan on joining us on Thursday, September 26 for the Condos for the Cure Open House. Get a jump start on your holiday shopping and kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a fun and beautiful setting!
