We often say living a healthy lifestyle could reduce your risk for breast cancer, and now we’re giving you the opportunity to do just that! During the month of October, System of Strength, an independently owned fitness studio, will hold a series of four classes at the Columbus Commons beginning Tuesday, October 8. The classes will be $15 each or all four for $50 and after just 18 people register for each class, 100% of the proceeds will support Komen Columbus. To register for the classes online, click the “Classes” drop-down menu and search for Komen-Columbus Commons.
If you’re looking to mix up your fitness routine or check out the beautiful Columbus Commons, you’ll want to save the date for these classes.

Flex and Flow
Tuesday, October 8 at 6 pm: This class stretches and strengthens your muscles all in one hour. The class has a quiet, intense energy. The instructors weave stretching moves between strengthening your muscles. You leave feeling relaxed, long, land lean.
Clocked
Tuesday, October 15 at 6 pm: This timed interval class will test your cardio endurance and burn mad calories. Using metabolic training, we incorporate arm, leg and core strength throughout cardio intervals. The instructors make the body work harder using different routines and equipment. This class is the most efficient way to build strength and burn fat simultaneously, as it burns up to 1,000 calories during class and creates an “after burn,” burning off calories up to 38 hours after class! This is the class you will love to hate.
High and Tight
Tuesday, October 22 at 6 pm: This class creates serious definition for your body. Instructors focus on the often neglected smaller muscle groups, or “nooks and crannies.” If you are looking to tighten, tone and cinch your body, this is your class. Instructors use high repetitions and unique moves to burn and lean your muscles, placing them high and making them tight! This class is low impact with high body impact!

Online registration is available for all classes by purchasing either the “Fitness Class for Komen” or the “Komen Four Class Pass.” You can also register on site.
The masterminds behind the System of Strength (SOS) studio, Gretchen Dusseau and Keri Croft, opened the studio in Grandview in 2012 in an effort to mix up their fitness routines.
“I am a fitness junkie, and I am always up for trying new workouts,” Keri said. “We are not boxed into being a yoga studio or a spinning studio, etc. We travel the country and visit various studios and gyms in order to keep ourselves and our members on the cutting edge of fitness. If you come to SOS, you get a well-rounded system of classes each week. This is much more effective than going and doing the same thing several times each week. Plus, it keeps things fresh and exciting. There’s nothing less inspiring that a stale, redundant workout routine.”
Mix up your exercise routine and join Keri and Gretchen this October at the Columbus Commons!
