Behind every Race for the Cure Team, there’s a story. We’re excited to share these stories as we prepare to celebrate our 25th Komen Columbus Race on May 20.
Meet Stasi’s Supporters.
“When I was diagnosed in July 2011 with Stage II A invasive ductile carcinoma, having no extended family in town, our Hilliard friends and Premier at Sawmill Athletic Club members were our army of relentless supporters –meals, outings for our young children, house cleaning, funny movies, etc. We were never alone. We quickly realized that most fighting breast cancer do not have such amazing support and were called to somehow “pay it forward” …
As a runner and fitness trainer who had participated in the Columbus Race for the Cure event many times, my husband Dr. Wayne Trout and I answered the call by forming our team, Stasi’s Supporters. We’ve raised over $30,000 for Komen Columbus since our inaugural 2012 team & continue to be humbled by the support our friends offer others who are fighting and thriving.”
